Description

Lyu Ji (1477-?) was a court painter of the Ming dynasty. He was well accomplished in subjects such as cranes, peacocks, phoenix, and mandarin ducks, and also good at bird-and-flower painting in ink-wash, equally famous with Lin Liang, another court painter.
Lyu Ji's bird-and-flower paintings feature accurate modelling, lively forms, and grand background layout, with stately and majestic qualities.
