Zhang Ling was adept at figures, as well as landscape, flower-and-bird paintings. He was close to Tang Yin with whom he shared the similar charm and interest in painting.
In this painting scroll, the weaving maid stands in the wind with a shuttle in her hands, her clothes flying and feet blurred as if she has just arrived by riding on clouds. With bold and vivid strokes, this work is full of artistic spirit.
