Du Jin (1456-before 1527), whose original family name was Lu, is also known by his zi (designated name) Ju’nan and his haos (literary name) Chengju, Gukuang and Qingxia Tingzhang. A native of Dantu in Jiangsu Province and a friend to the then artists including Shen Zhou, Du Jin was known for his excellence in painting various themes, including figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds.
