Dai Benxiao (1621-after 1694), a native of He County (present-day in Anhui province), is also known for his zi (designated name) Wuzhan, and haos (literary names) Qianxiu-zi and Ying’e Shanqiao. The artist was especially good at painting landscapes as well as pine trees and plum blossoms in simple and elegant style. He did this work at the age of fifty-eight, the seventeenth year (1678) of Kangxi Reign.
