Description

Chen Chun (1484-1544), also known by his zi (designated name) Daofu and his hao (literary name) Baiyang, was a native of Suzhou in Jiangsu province. Especially good at painting free-style flowers, the artist was often mentioned together with his peer Xu Wei as “Qingteng and Baiyang”. This work was dated the 16th year of Jiajing reign (1537) when the artist was fifty-four years old.
