Dong Qichang (1555-1636) is also known by his zi (designated name) Xuanzai and his hao (literary name) Xiangguang. A native of Huating (present-day Songjiang, Shanghai), Dong Qichang is famous for his landscape using exquisite ink washes and delicate strokes. These leaves were completed in the forty-fifth year of Wanli reign (1617) when the artist was sixty-three years old.
