Zhang Ruitu (1570-1644), also known by his zi (designated name) Zhanggong and hao (literary name) Ershui, was a native of Jinjiang, Fujian province. He created a special free style of calligraphy different from those of Zhong You and Wang Xizhi, and has been regarded as one of the Four Calligraphic Masters in the Late Ming dynasty, together with Dong Qichang, Mi Wanzhong and Xing Tong.
