Zhu Yingxiang, also known by his zi (designated name) Qifeng and his hao (literary name) Fengshan, was a native of Huating (in present-day Songjiang, Shanghai). He earned provincial recommendation in the 17th year (1477) of the Chenghua reign. Skilled in poetry and cursive-running script, he was also an accomplished connoisseur of painting and calligraphy. This fan leaf, dedicated to Sun Yiyuan who was one of the "Five Recluses of Tiaoxi". Sun co-founded a poetry society with Suzhou literati including Wang Chong and Wen Zhengming. This fan leaf bears Shen Zhou's painting and inscription alongside poems by Zhu, Sun, and Tang Yin. The poem records their night boating trip, serving as a testament to the frequent cultural exchanges between Songjiang and Wu region literati in the Ming dynasty.
