His wife, Guan Daosheng, is said to be from Xiaozheng in Maoxi, Songjiang (in present-day Qingpu, Shanghai). This work was dedicated to Zhao's father-in-law Guan Zhifu, exemplifying Zhao Mengfu's mature style that is graceful and fluid. During the Ming dynasty, the leaf was preserved in the Qingsenge collection of He Liangjun (1506-1573), a connoisseur from present-day Zhelin in Fengxian, Shanghai), who also once owned Su Shi's Memorial Ode for Huang Jidao (now in the Shanghai Museum).
