Description

Liang Qichao (1873-1929), also known by his zi (designated name) Zhuoru, was a native of Xinhui in Guangdong. He was a prominent politician and thinker. This is a personal note he wrote to his eldest daughter Liang Sishun, who was then in Shanghai. Hu Shi (1891-1962), also known by his zi (designated name) Shizhi, was native to Jixi in Anhui. Hu was one of the leading advocates of the New Culture Movement and an accomplished writer and philosopher. This letter was addressed by him to Professor Xie Songgao of the Hujiang University.
