Description

Yang Keyang (1914-2010), a native of Suichang in Zhejiang, moved to Shanghai in his youth. In the early 1930s, Lu Xun initiated the New Woodblock Printing Movement in Shanghai, which profoundly influenced Yang, who later became a leading figure. This work depicts a corner of the Shanghai Lu Xun Museum bathed in gentle sunlight. The composition masterfully employs large chunk of black color, creating striking contrasts and harmonious tones that evoke a solemn, contemplative atmosphere.
