Yu Zhiding (1647-1716), also styled as Shangji (zi) and Shenzhai (hao), is a native of Jiangdu (present-day Yangzhou) and well known as a portrait painter in the Kangxi reign. Here an elegantly dressed lady sits among the green, looking at the three delightful rabbits playing about. The painter meticulously presents the details of folds and patterns in fabric as well as hairs of the rabbits, with even and vivid colouring.
