Description

Wu Zhen, also known by his zi (designated name) Zhonggui and his hao (literary name) Meihua Daoren, was native to Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. Wu Zhen was one of the "Four Masters of the Yuan" and noted for paintings of landscape and ink bamboo. This painting depicts fishermen boating on the lake among the mountains. The simple brushstrokes produce a rustic yet vivid style.
