Wang Shimin (1592-1680) is also known by his zi (designated name) Xunzhi and his hao (literary name) Yanke. His ancestors' merits earned him the title Deputy Minister of the Imperial Ancestral Temple in the Ming dynasty, but he refused to serve in the Qing court. Wang lived in Xitian Manor in his later years. A native of Taicang in Jiangsu province, Wang Shimin was the head of the "Six Masters of the Early Qing". This is an album of nine leaves of paintings imitating the styles of six Yuan dynasty masters, each of which captures the unique features of these masters.
