Description

You Zhao (18th century – early 19th century), also known by his zi (designated name) Boxuan and his hao (literary name) Baixuan, was a native of Changzhou (present-day Suzhou, Zhejiang province). Wang Gong (18th century – early 19th century), also known by his zi (designated name) Gongshou and his hao (literary name) Zhupin, was a native of Xiuning in Anhui province. For this painting, You Zhao painted the figures, and Wang Gong did the setting of the scene. Yuan Mei (1716-1798), also known by his later hao Suiyuan Laoren, was renowned for his poems. He had many students, all of whom were called "Suiyuan's disciples".
