Fu Baoshi (1904-1965), originally named Ruilin, was known by his hao (literary name) Baoshi. A native of Xinyu in Jiangxi province, he was adept in painting landscape, figure, and flower. Fu developed a unique style through combining Japanese painting style and traditional Chinese painting techniques. The artist painted this painting at the age of 44 in 1947. The view of Mountain Lu was rendered with dense and bold brushstrokes.
