Since late May of 1997, Zhao Puchu had been writing Lin Zexu's ci poem Destruction of Opium every day along with a qu poem of his own, to welcome the forthcoming return of Hong Kong and to support the constitutional principle 'one country, two systems'. This work was created by the 91-year-old gentleman on the day of the return, manifesting good brushwork strength in well-balanced structure of characters.
