Description

In 1972, the Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka paid an official visit to China, which signified the formal diplomatic relation established between the PRC and Japan. In August 1974, Zhao Puchu composed a poem for the exhibition Murals of Han and Tang China to be held in November at the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art, Japan, and this poem was included in the exhibition catalogue. The poem was rewritten with expressive brushwork in 1976 by the 70-year-old gentleman, as is showcased here.
