The Three Admonitions are three short essays composed by Liu Zongyuan when he was deported to Liuzhou. They include On Fear, On Worry, and On Enemy. By copying these essays, Zhao expressed his worries of the times and reminded himself of continuous mental cultivation. Zhao wrote this work in 1970 at the age of sixty-four, a masterpiece boasting good brush strength and varied, coherent strokes.
