Description

This calligraphic work comprises two poems by Zhao Puchu: a ci poem written in response to Chairman Mao's poem on the gala evening of ethnic songs and dances in 1950, and a shi poem composed at the request of the editorial department of the journal National Unity in 1979. The former celebrates 'Sing together a grand reunion', while the latter mentions the sweet memory of 'the gorgeous gala evening held twenty-nine years ago', encouraging the editorial department staff to 'press forward along the new journey of ten thousand li '. The Chinese version of the journal National Unity was first published in 1957, from which the magazine Ethnic Groups of China grew. This work boasts an elegant calligraphic style, with words full of patriotic emotion.
