Artist: Zhao Puchu
Date: Modern
Material: Ink on paper
During an inspection visit to Fujian Province in October 1990, Zhao Puchu composed an impromptu ci poem to celebrate the unique and beautiful scenery alongside the Nine-Bend Stream in Mount Wuyi. He compared the 'big rockery' of Mt. Wuyi with the 'jagged rocks' of Mt. Huang and referenced the 'tea cave' in relation to the Wuyi tea culture. Despite being eighty-four years old, Zhao played a leading role in propagating Buddhism both at home and abroad. The well-structured characters in this work, rendered in a dynamic flow of brushwork, exhibit rhythmic grace.
