In 1985, the seventy-nine-year-old Zhao Puchu copied a description of paper-making from Su Dongpo's Inscription. The passage mentions that the water from Huanhua Stream in Chengdu could improve paper quality and that the well water at Daming Temple in Yangzhou had the same effect. Given his good connection to Daming Temple, Zhao copied this passage for a friend. This work, rendered with refined and restrained brushwork, exhibits a well-paced rhythm with unique expressions.
