Reopening the Shanghai Museum
Publication Date: 2022-06-30

Dear visitors,

We’re delighted to reopen our doors and welcome you back to the Shanghai Museum from July 1 (Friday). Our opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00-17:00 (last entry at 16:00). The Museum is closed on Mondays (except on national holidays). Please note that currently the Ancient Chinese Sculpture Gallery (1F) and the Chinese Ming and Qing Furniture Gallery (4F) remain shut down due to their open displays; the Chinese Calligraphy Gallery (3F) and the Chinese Painting Gallery (3F) are temporarily closed for rotations. Other galleries and exhibitions are fully ready for your visit.

All visitors are required to make online reservations with IDs. Group visits are not available. You can book your visit within 7 days in advance via the Shanghai Museum’s official website and the WeChat official account, or the mini-app文旅一码游 (Chinese only).

The Museum's reservation QR code has been incorporated with the health QR code (Suishenma) for easier access. After successful reservation, you will only need to have your Suishenma ready to be scanned upon check-in at the Museum's entrance. Please note only visitors with normal temperature (≦37.3℃), a green health QR code and a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours will be allowed to enter the Museum. If your PCR test was done outside Shanghai, you can present the test result to our staff to verify. Please wear a mask properly during your entire visit.

Seniors 70 and older, visitors with disabilities, and healthcare workers can have priority check-inguided by staff if presenting valid ID or certificate.

For more information, please read our reservation instructions or call 021-63723500 ext. 132.

Your health and safety are our priority. We hope you will have an enjoyable and comfortable visit in the Shanghai Museum.

Looking forward to seeing you again very soon!
