Dear visitors,
In order to enrich the cultural activities in the night for the public, the Shanghai Museum will extend the opening hours and hold “Shanghai Museum Night” activities on Fridays from July 7th to August 20th.
I. Night Opening Hours
From July 7th to August 20th, 2023, the Museum will open from 18:00 to 21:00 every Friday (last entry 20:00).

III. Reservation and Visiting Information
The Museum space is limited to 2,000 visitors per night by reservations made for different time slots. All visitors (including children and seniors) are required to make reservations online with verified personal ID information. Visitors can reserve through the official Shanghai Museum website, the Wechat official account of the Shanghai Museum. Daytime reservations cannot be used for nighttime visits, and vice versa.
IV. Special Notification
In the exhibition “The Proof of China: The Civilizations of Songze and Liangzhu”, the jade Cong (tube), the jade Yue (axe) with fittings and patterns of mythical figure and animal mask, and the jade scepter with fittings unearthed from tomb M12 of the Fanshan site, the openwork jade crest-like object from tomb M16 of the Fanshan site, and the jade bracelet with twisted pattern from tomb M11 of Yaoshan site were scheduled to leave the exhibition on July 9th. The stone pig unearthed from the Lingjiatan site was scheduled to leave the exhibition on July 20th. In response to the visitors’ enthusiasm to the exhibition, these exhibits will be exhibited until July 23rd. The Shanghai Museum owes great gratitude to the strong support of the lenders.
