Jin Nong (1687-1763), a famous calligrapher in the Qing dynasty, was one of the ‘Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou’. 
This pair of couplets features a simple and clear form and structure, with strokes square and flat, showing a plain but dignified atmosphere, full of antique charm.
