Cowpea-red glaze was the famous creation of the Kangxi reign period imitating Xuande copper red glaze. Most of the articles were in small size, used as stationery appliances. This vase, with elegant shape and sophisticated craft, is one of the standard styles of cowpea-red in the Kangxi period. This piece is exceptionally exquisite with its thin and delicate glaze which takes on elegant pink colour with dark red specks and apple-green moss scattering.
