There are billions of stars in the Milky Way alone, and many more beyond. Sometimes, the universe's vastness can seem so unfathomable that we become so entranced by it, we fail to see what is around us: we forget that a thing so small can somehow contain so much that there is a microscopic world thriving within.
This creation is a reminder of just that – that the "invisible" exists within what is visible to our bare eyes. It is a blend of biology and technology, of what is and what can be – a magnifying glass in the shape of an eye. When the overlapped eyes are unfolded into two pieces, the world is presented as we know it through the eye without lens; through the other, however, an influx of minute treasures we did not know existed emerge and overwhelm us. The world surrounding us remains constant, but that in our eyes shows uncharted.
The shape of the creation is reminiscent of that of the Eye of Agamotto in Doctor Strange – a Marvel movie deeply loved by the creator. The infinity stone contained, among other powers, the ability to control the flow of time. Interestingly, when the creator is at work, he does not feel the presence of time – it is only him and the material. Yet his creations transcend time and space, and take us on a journey into worlds unknown.
Beauty dwells not only on but also below the surface – something that may only be fully appreciated when given the right apparatus. Thus, the invention, and more so the application thereof, are a testament to human evolution that makes up for our physical limitations – an evolution that is attributed not to a prolonged period of natural selection, but to the proactive innovation of our time. The invisible does not exist. There are only the visible and the less visible – and with some help, the former might just start outweighing the latter.
