Fei Danxu (1802-1850), also known by his zi (designated name) Zishao and his hao (literary names) Xiaolou and Huanxisheng, was a native of Wucheng (nowadays Huzhou, Zhejiang province). Fei Danxu was skilled in portraits and painting court ladies. This painting depicts a lady in baimiao (line drawing) from behind who is holding a fan and standing alone beside a tree. Viewers can't see her facial expression but can still feel the artistic mood of this painting, which recalls TangYin's work of the same name.
